Skin first
~ Unlocking your skin’s true potential, naturally ~
Your skin is a living organ, constantly responding to what is happening both inside and around you.
My approach begins by understanding how your skin is functioning, because when the skin is calm, resilient and properly supported, it is better able to protect itself, repair and maintain its natural radiance.
What does Skin First mean?
Skin First means looking beyond the surface. Instead of just asking how we can reduce a line, clear a blemish or brighten pigmentation, I want to understand why your skin is behaving as it is. That might involve its barrier health, sensitivity, inflammation, hormones, stress, sleep, skincare routine or the environment around you.
By understanding the wider picture, we can make more thoughtful decisions about the treatments and products that will genuinely support your skin.
Skin science, traditional techniques and human touch
My approach brings together modern skin science, traditional facial techniques and the restorative power of touch.
Professional treatments such as microneedling and chemical peels can support collagen production, skin renewal, pigmentation and texture. Facial massage, buccal massage, gua sha and facial cupping work differently, helping to release tension, encourage circulation and lymphatic flow, and bring a sense of ease back to the face.
I don’t believe one approach is inherently better than another. The best treatment is the one that is appropriate for your skin, your goals and how you are feeling on the day.
Your skin doesn’t exist in isolation
Skin is influenced by far more than the products you apply.
Hormones, sleep, stress, nutrition, hydration, movement and the nervous system can all affect how your skin looks and feels. This doesn’t mean you need a perfect lifestyle. It simply means that lasting skin health is rarely created by a single product or treatment alone.
My role is to help you understand what may be influencing your skin and identify the realistic changes most likely to make a difference.
Why touch matters
Touch is central to the way I work.
Many of us carry tension through the jaw, brow, neck and shoulders without realising it. Slow, intentional facial massage can help soften that tension, encourage movement through the tissues and create the conditions for the nervous system to settle.
This is why my treatments are designed to leave you feeling different as well as looking different. Healthy skin is important, but so is the person beneath it.
Consistency over quick fixes
There is no single treatment, product or ingredient that can permanently transform your skin.
Meaningful change usually comes from simple things done consistently: a well-chosen home routine, daily SPF, appropriate professional treatments and enough time for the skin to respond.
Your plan doesn’t need to be complicated. It needs to be suitable for your skin and realistic for your life.
A more positive approach to ageing
Ageing isn’t a skin problem to be solved.
As skin changes, it may become drier, thinner or slower to repair. Collagen and elasticity gradually reduce, and hormonal changes may affect sensitivity, pigmentation and hydration. Understanding these changes allows us to support the skin intelligently without treating ageing as a failure.
My aim isn’t to make you look like somebody else. Its to help your skin remain healthy, comfortable and radiant at every stage of life.
Treatments tailored to you
Every appointment begins with your skin as it is today.
We’ll discuss your concerns, assess what your skin needs and choose the techniques most likely to support it. This may involve facial massage, buccal massage, gua sha, facial cupping, masks, microcurrent, extractions, microneedling, chemical peels or personalised skincare advice.
For some clients, one treatment is exactly what they need. For others, the best results come from a considered series of treatments supported by a simple home routine.
If you are unsure where to begin, book the Leave It With Me or The Journey facial. I will assess your skin and create a treatment around what it needs on the day.
Because when you put skin health first, radiance has something real to grow from.
